Social Impact
Our impact goes beyond hospitality. We work with heart to transform realities in the Amazon.
At PuraChata Ecolodge, we understand that our growth only has meaning if it goes hand in hand with the well-being of the surrounding community. Therefore, we collaborate directly with local families and stakeholders by creating jobs, consuming local products, and supporting initiatives that strengthen their development.
Community and Education
Since our beginnings, we have maintained an active commitment to nearby schools, providing support in the form of school supplies and contributing to infrastructure improvement projects. This work is carried out continuously, in coordination with teachers and principals, with the goal of contributing to the educational environment of the children in the area.
Full details of these actions can be found in our Projects section, where we share progress updates, photos, and testimonials.
Operational Sustainability
Our commitment also extends to the environmental sphere. We promote sustainable practices both in our operations and in our guests’ experience.
We cultivate staple ingredients of Amazonian cuisine without chemicals, raise fish fed with fruit and organic waste, keep chickens to ensure fresh, sustainable eggs, and use a biodigester for the proper treatment of greywater.
All these actions are part of our vision for responsible, consistent, and respectful tourism in the Amazon.
- Solidarity Campaign
A Grain of Sand
💖
How did the initiative begin?
It all started with a deeply impactful trip. Traveling along the Iquitos-Nauta highway, we encountered rural schools lacking essential support. Despite their hardships, the children’s smiles and motivation to learn were truly moving. This is how this campaign was born: from the heart, with the desire to sow hope.
From Spain, we launched a crowdfunding campaign with the support of friends and family to raise funds and contribute our “Grain of Sand to the Peruvian Amazon.”
