The story of PURACHATA was born from the union of two worlds, the fusion of two cultures, and the shared vision of creating a space that connects people with the Amazon in an authentic and respectful way. Two women, two distinct stories, and one shared calling: to listen to the Amazon and share its magic with those who come here.
Marta, originally from Spain, came to Iquitos seeking a deep connection with nature, an encounter with herself and the true essence of life. Driven by the need to learn about ancestral medicine and the traditional knowledge of the Amazon, she saw her dream of creating a space that honored this natural and cultural wealth become a reality.
Valerie, a persevering woman from Iquitos deeply connected to her land, grew up admiring the biodiversity that surrounds her home. Aware of the value of the Amazon, she always felt that this beauty should be shared with more people, but in a responsible and respectful way that preserves its natural balance.
They met by chance and connected immediately, sharing stories, dreams, and passions. From that serendipitous conversation, the idea for the now-realized project, Pura Chata, was born.

Today, we work with a team of local people who know every trail, every plant, and every sound of the jungle. Together, we design tours that allow travelers to explore the wildlife, traverse lagoons and virgin forests, learn about medicinal plants, and discover the Amazon in its true essence.
